Our Grandfather's knew how to make things that would last for generations! The 16 jewel movement was just completely taken apart and serviced on 8-28-2019, a brand new mainspring has also been installed. It's in superb running condition and keeping excellent time. This watch has been tested on a professional timegraph 5000 Machine for accuracy so rest assured! Take another look at picture number three again, this movement is clean as a whistle and stunning in its beauty! I'm sure that you have noticed by now that this is not your ordinary trench watch case by a long shot! This is a 15k SOLID GOLD trench watch case that was manufactured by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The hallmarks on the inside of the case back are: 15 for 15k solid gold content, .625 for 15k solid gold content, the anchor for Birmingham England, ALD for Aaron Lufkin Dennison and the date letter code of "t" for 1918. The hinged case back only opens up to 90 degrees, just as it should. This case is highly prized by collectors for its beauty and design features, especially the 15k solid gold content. Plus, this case still has the original factory crown! The case has been nicely polished, looks fantastic! This watch is simply incredible! The enamel dial on this trench watch is among the most desirable that Waltham ever produced, the RED 12 Military Dial! The dial features a white face, arabic numerals, an outer chapter of minute markers, the correct blue steel hands for this dial, signed "WALTHAM" near the center with the RED 12 at the top. This historic and iconic WWI Waltham Trench Watch has been fitted with a black leather Kitchener Strap that absolutely makes the watch! The strap was hand made by the Prairie Flower Leather Company in Nebraska. Very high quality strap that was made using a sewing machine from the Great War era! Take a look at picture number two again, this watch looks stunning on the wrist! The strap will fit a wrist up to about 8 inches and has a matching gold tone buckle. It will have a bit of wear on it because I seriously could not resist wearing this one for awhile, can you blame me? It's kind of like Ferris Bueller and that Ferrari, if you had access to one would you just leave it in a garage? I think not! Here are the movement details: 1904 Waltham, 16 jewels, size 0s, serial number 12538957, model 1900. Yes, Dennison used Lady Waltham grade movements in their trench watches. There are several advertisements that back this up. This high end movement features 16 jewels, a solid gold center wheel, solid gold raised jewel chatons and solid gold balance wheel screws! They just don't make them like this anymore! The case measures 37mm lug tip to lug tip, 32.5mm not including the original factory crown with an 11mm lug diameter. A brand new glass crystal has been installed using UV cement and a UV curing machine. A brand new inner sleeve has also been installed in the crown tube, the crown has a nice firm pop just as it should. This watch is ready to be worn and shown off, it will surely get noticed! I put a lot of time and effort into this Waltham, I'm sure that you will appreciate the quality and quantity of work that has been done. Solid old World craftsmanship at its finest!
